NEW YEARS DAY

When I lived up north we used to go to Angelsey (Cabled bay) We would go in for a surf no matter how good or bad the surf was. Well the round trip Wrexham to cable bay was 130 mile. Quite a trip on New Years day but now i live in Bude to get to Cable Bay and back is 670 miles. (Bit to far).
So if anyone is up for it I am surfing at Summerleaze (Bude) getting in as before at 11.00 . See you there if anyone fancy it.

Last Day of 2011

Well it's the last day of the year

Surf is rubbish and it's cold wet and windy. So how can i cheer you all up ???????? I know I'll show you somebody who is surfing in colder conditions than most of us will ever do. I give you....

"GLACIER SURFING"

Cheer up it's nearly summer.

With this spell of strong winds (nothing to do with Christmas sprouts) and poor waves for us here in Bude .
 I have been trawling  the internet to find a video of UK surfing and this is what I found. It keeps with the tradition of the site as there is longboarding short boarding and at least one wave near Bude.

Christmas day swim (full video)

Will be back to surfing soon but the christmas day swim is such a big event in Bude it would have been very rude not to post it. 
So here is the full video of the the morning swim. 
It is a charity swim all funds raised go to the surf life saving club. 
Donations can still be made at Zuma Jays surf shop or at the surf life saving club .

I was talking the other day about how commercialization has hi jacked surfing. The first time I can remember seeing surfing used to promote a product was "the old spice "early 70's advert.If you know of any earlier adverts please let me know. any way enjoy the advert.

Wrexham trip

Just got back from a trip to Wrexham (N. Wales) to see Mum and Dad and family up there. Also went to see surf mate Paul W Had a good night talking about surfing and eating take away. I think its the first time he beat me at some thing. A PS3 motor bike game .LOL> get my own back now here's a picture of him surfing.

I know it's not surfing

This is a picture my eldest son Matthew took. He entered it in a competition (BBC wildlife magazine) and they printed it .He won 1st prize well done.Check out his blog (http://cornwallcameratrapping.blogspot.com/ )  to see his amazing wild life pictures. Saturdays surf

Went for a surf today, got in about 3.00. did need boots but no gloves or hood. The water was ok but the wind chill was not very nice. As far as the surf , well it was choppy/ messy all over the shop. But was glad to get in as its been over 10 days since last surf.

The Endless Winter

This is footage of a British film being made called "THE ENDLESS WINTER"

I don't know the release date , but I am really looking forward to seeing the finished item. The clip I choose is where they look back at the birth of big wave surfing in the UK (The Cribber). I totally respect the guys who first Surfed this wave not just because they where the first , but the equipment they used. Anyway you watch and make your own opinion of them.

A few days ago I found this software that allowed you too mosaic a picture. So I used this picture of Lewis and then mosaic it used pictures of surfing near Bude and this was the result.
